Enjoy this easy to make dressing on your favourite salad. It also tastes great on top of a variety of roasted veggie bowls! It only uses 6 ingredients you already have!
This is a super tasty salad dressing that only takes a couple of minutes to come together. It uses simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand in your fridge and pantry.
This recipe is a staple salad dressing in our household. It never disappoints, and becomes a smooth consistency that is well-suited for many different salads. In addition, it also pairs nicely with roasted vegetables like, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and carrots. It also compliments chick peas, feta, goat cheese, and a variety of grains like quinoa and brown rice. I recommend you try it!
When I make salad dressings, I always use mason jars. It makes it easy to combine ingredients, and if I have a few on the go, I can easily see which dressing is which. I have a set of reusable plastic lids that fit standard mason jar openings, which makes them very convenient. Once we’re finished with the dressing, the jars and lids get tossed into the dishwasher. Very easy cleanup!
Let’s get to the dressing!
Easy Balsamic Dressing Ingredients
Olive Oil – I always have a large bottle of extra virgin olive oil in my pantry. Find one that is reasonably priced for your budget. You certainly don’t need the high-end stuff for this recipe, though quality is important. When picking out a bottle of olive oil, look for one that is stored in a dark bottle. Also, store it in a part of your kitchen where it is not exposed to additional heat, as that can quickly deteriorate the quality of it. To help with savings, I always check the unit price and keep an eye for sales, as it’s an item that I know I use a lot.
Balsamic Vinegar – Balsamic vinegar is a dark, highly intense-flavoured vinegar made from unfermented grape juice. Depending on the length of time that is has been aged in barrels for will affect its price point. I recommend finding one that fits your budget and that you prefer the flavour of.
Honey Mustard – Honey mustard is a combination of sweet, tangy and creaminess… which ultimately leads to an ideal component of any salad dressing. In this particular dressing, it blends seamlessly with the olive oil and apple cider vinegar. It’s definitely a staple as a condiment in our house, and I recommend finding other ways to use it!
Maple Syrup – Although there isn’t much used in this recipe, you’ll want to use the good stuff. If you don’t have any on hand, you could replace it with agave or honey, though it will change the taste slightly.
Salt – the measured amounts for Kosher Salt are guidelines. As always, feel free to season as desired!

Easy Balsamic Dressing Tools
Below are some kitchen tools that although they may not be required, are certainly great to have in the kitchen.
Measuring cups and spoons – this recipe uses standard measuring tools.
Mason Jar or Dressing Bottle – Mason jars are cheap and come in a variety of ideal sizes for different dressings and sauces. I use them all the time, especially since purchasing reusable lids. Far cheaper than those difficult to clean ones that are on the market. A bowl and a whisk can also do the job!
In addition, you’ll want to have a tool on hand to crush the clove of garlic.
